Jackson Honored With Highway Stretch

Country star Alan Jackson has been honored in his hometown of Newnan, Georgia, with his own stretch of highway.

A five mile stretch of I-85 was renamed in the singer's honor on Friday.

Jackson enthuses, "Over the years, I've had horses and dogs and even children named after me, but this is definitely the most honorable thing."

"It was a great place to grow up. I'm not sure I'm quite qualified for the main highway. Maybe they should've picked a dirt road or something."
