Nashville,
TN -- Country star Alan Jackson has donated his 2005 Ford GT featured in the
music video for "The Talkin' Song Repair Blues" to Franklin
Road Academy in Nashville for a nationwide raffle.
Raffle tickets are $20 each and may be purchased by logging onto www.FordGTraffle.org. The drawing for Jackson's Ford GT will be on Friday, September 1 with proceeds benefiting "The Campaign for Franklin Road Academy: Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders."
"The Talkin' Song Repair Blues" was the third hit single from Jackson's Platinum album, What I Do, released in 2004. What I Do garnered the #1 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums and Billboard 200 charts and became Jackson's third disc to debut at #1, joining his triple-Platinum Greatest Hits Volume II (from 2003), and 2002's four-million-selling Drive, both of which topped the pop and country charts in their first week.
Released February 28, Jackson's current album, Precious Memories, is the only gospel recording to debut at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. Jackson also became the first country artist in history to debut an album of all-spiritual material at #1 on the Top Christian Albums and Top Christian & Gospel Albums charts, remaining atop both charts for eight consecutive weeks.
Since 1989, Alan has recorded 15 albums, earned 31 #1 singles and amassed record sales of more than 44 million. He is the most nominated artist in CMA (Country Music Association) history and has won more than 95 industry awards.
