NASHVILLE, TN.
(Arista Nashville Records) - Fans of Arista
Nashville superstar
Alan
Jackson are eagerly awaiting April 22 as it
marks both a return visit to The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno and the launch of the three-time CMA
Entertainer of the Year's much-anticipated 2005
What I
Do
Tour, joined by chart-topper
Sara
Evans and ACR/RCA debut-recording artists, The
Wrights.
Following the Tonight Show taping in
California, Jackson will make his way to Las
Vegas, where the tour kicks off with a night at
the MGM Grand.
Look for Jackson's Tonight Show visit to
include a performance of his newest single, 'The
Talkin' Song Repair Blues,' of which Billboard
proclaims, 'Between his personality-packed
performance and a radio-ready chorus, 'The Talkin'
Song Repair Blues' sounds like another hit for
this veteran chart-topper. One
more reason to pick up a copy of his excellent
album, [the Platinum-certified] 'What I Do.''
And the fans continue to prove that they love
Jackson and his music. With career album sales now
in excess of 44 million, word arrives this week
that his Greatest Hits Volume II has just been
RIAA-certified 6x Platinum for sales of six
million units.
Jackson is also a double-nominee and performer
on the upcoming 40th Annual Academy of Country Music
Awards, airing May 17 on CBS.
